We want you to be fully satisfied with your purchase.
This Refunds & Returns Policy applies to all orders placed via www.capu.de.
1. Right of Withdrawal (EU Consumers)
If you are a consumer residing in the EU, you have a 60-day right of withdrawal under the EU Consumer Rights Directive and § 312g BGB.
The withdrawal period begins on the day you, or a third party designated by you (other than the carrier), receive the goods.
To exercise your right of withdrawal, simply send us a clear declaration via email to:
contact@capu.de
You may use the model withdrawal form provided below, but this is not mandatory.
2. Effects of Withdrawal
If you withdraw from your contract:
We will refund all payments received from you, including standard delivery costs, within 60 days of receiving your withdrawal notification.
Refunds will be issued to the original payment method.
We may withhold the refund until we receive the returned goods or until you provide proof that you have returned them, whichever occurs first.
Goods must be returned no later than 60 days after you notify us of the withdrawal.
3. Return Shipping Costs
EU returns
Returns from all EU countries are free of charge.
We will provide you with a prepaid return label.
Non-EU returns (UK, USA, Switzerland, Norway, ROW)
Returns from outside the EU are handled on a case-by-case basis.
CAPU will assess each request individually.
In some cases, CAPU may provide a prepaid label.
In other cases, customers may be asked to arrange return shipping themselves.
Please contact us before returning goods from outside the EU.
4. Condition of Returned Goods
Returned items should be:
- unused and in their original condition,
- in original packaging where reasonably possible.
This does not affect your statutory rights when goods are defective.
5. Refund Eligibility Outside Withdrawal Rights
In addition to statutory withdrawal rights, we may, at our discretion, accept returns beyond 60 days for items in perfect condition.
This discretionary acceptance does not constitute a permanent policy and may be changed at any time.
Refunds are always made to the original payment method.
6. Exceptions
The following products cannot be returned:
- Items damaged through misuse
- Items returned in heavily used condition
- Items missing essential components
- Products personalised or customised specifically for the customer (unless defective)
This does not affect your statutory warranty rights.
7. Lifetime Guarantee Claims
Warranty claims under our Lifetime Guarantee are not processed via this Returns Policy.
For lifetime guarantee claims, please refer to the Terms & Conditions section “Product Lifetime Guarantee” and contact:
contact@capu.de

5. How We Share Personal Information
We share your Personal Information with third parties only to the extent necessary and lawful.
5.1 Service providers (processors)
We use service providers who process data on our behalf, including:
- Shopify – store hosting, checkout, payments, fraud prevention, analytics, email notifications
- Payment providers – card acquirers, Revolut Pay, PayPal, and others shown at checkout
- Shipping providers – FedEx, UPS, DHL, DPD and local postal services
- Email and marketing tools – newsletter and transactional email services
- IT, analytics and cloud providers – infrastructure, storage, performance monitoring
These providers are contractually bound to process your data only under our instructions and to implement appropriate security measure.
5.2 Independent controllers
Some third parties act as independent controllers, meaning they decide how they process your data. This includes, for example:
- payment providers when you enter your payment details on their pages
- Shopify, when it uses consumer data to provide its own services across merchants
- social media platforms, if you interact with our profiles there
- analytics or advertising partners, where used
Their own privacy policies apply in addition to this one.
5.3 Legal and business transfers
We may share Personal Information where required by law or in connection with a corporate transaction (e.g. merger, asset sale), always in line with applicable data protection law.
We do not sell your Personal Information in the sense of typical “data broker” activities.
6. International Data Transfers
Some service providers (including Shopify and certain payment and email providers) are located outside your home country, including in Canada and the United States.
Where your data is transferred from the EU/EEA or UK to a country without an adequacy decision, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and, where required, additional technical and organisational measures.
You can contact us for more information about these safeguards.
7. Cookies and Targeted Advertising
You can control cookies through your browser settings and, where applicable, through our cookie banner or cookie settings tool.
If we use targeted advertising or retargeting services (for example, Meta/Facebook Ads, Google Ads, or similar), this will typically involve:
- using cookies or identifiers to recognise your device
- sharing limited information with the advertising provider so they can show you relevant ads
- receiving aggregated statistics about ad performance
In many regions you can opt out of targeted advertising:
- via the privacy or ad settings in the relevant platform (e.g. Google, Facebook)
- via industry opt-out tools like the Digital Advertising Alliance: http://optout.aboutads.info/
In the EU/EEA and UK, non-essential cookies and similar technologies for advertising or advanced analytics will only be used with your consent.
8. How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep Personal Information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above or as required by law.
Typical retention periods include:
- Order and invoice data: generally 10 years (tax/commercial law)
- Customer account data: as long as your account is active, or until you request deletion (subject to legal retention)
- Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe or we stop sending newsletters to you
- Technical logs and analytics data: for a period appropriate to security and performance monitoring and then anonymised or deleted
- Support requests: for as long as needed to handle your request and for documentation, then according to statutory retention rule.
When data is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymise it.
9. Your Rights
9.1 Rights under GDPR (EEA/UK)
If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you have the following rights under the GDPR / UK-GDPR (subject to legal conditions):
- Right of access – to know whether we process your data and to receive a copy

- request access, correction or deletion
- object to or restrict certain processing
- opt out of targeted advertising or certain data sharing
We will honour all rights granted to you under applicable law. You can contact us at contact@capu.de with any request, stating your place of residence so we can process it under the correct legal framework.

Our store is hosted on Shopify Inc., which provides us with the e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you.
2. Scope of Application
These Terms apply to all contracts concluded via our online shop at www.capu.de between CAPU and you as our customer.
They apply to:
- Consumers within the meaning of Art. 2(1) EU Consumer Rights Directive / § 13 BGB, and
- Entrepreneurs (§ 14 BGB), unless otherwise expressly stated.
If there is a conflict between these Terms and mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence within the EU/EEA or UK, the mandatory law of your country prevails.

By using our Site and placing an order, you confirm that:
- you are at least the age of majority in your country of residence, or

You may not use our Site or products for any illegal or unauthorised purpose, and you must not violate any applicable laws (including intellectual property and export laws).

4. Contract Formation & Acceptance of Terms
The presentation of products in our online shop is not a legally binding offer but an invitation to place an order.
By completing the order process and clicking the “Buy now”, “Place order” or similarly labelled button in the checkout, you submit a binding offer to purchase the products in your cart.
We may accept your offer by:
- sending you an order confirmation by email, or
- dispatching the goods.
The contract is concluded when we accept your offer.
Contract language: English.
During the checkout flow, you will be asked to confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms & Conditions, and a link to this T&Cs page will be clearly visible. By completing payment, you confirm your acceptance of these Terms.
5. Prices, VAT & Payment
All prices in the online shop:
- are shown in Euro (EUR) (or other currencies where indicated),
- include German VAT where applicable, and
- exclude shipping costs, which are displayed separately during checkout.

For some payment methods (e.g. PayPal, wallets), the charge may occur at the time you approve the payment in their interface, according to their terms.
Payment is due immediately upon conclusion of the contract.
6. Shipping, Delivery & Availability

We currently ship to:
- all EU member states, and
- United Kingdom, Switzerland, USA, Canada and selected countries worldwide (“ROW”).
Shipping is handled via:

Shipping costs and options (e.g. standard / express, free and/or flat rates) depend on the destination and are clearly shown during checkout before you place your order. Additional details may be provided in our Shipping Policy.
Delivery times vary by country and shipping method and are given as estimates, not guaranteed delivery dates.
If a product is not available at the time of order, we will inform you without undue delay. If the product is permanently unavailable, we will not accept your order and any payments already made will be refunded. If we have accepted your order and the product later becomes unavailable, we will notify you and refund any payments.
7. Retention of Title
The delivered goods remain our property until full payment of the purchase price has been received by us.
8. Right of Withdrawal (EU/EEA & UK Consumers)
If you are a consumer residing in the EU/EEA or UK, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal for online purchases under applicable consumer law.
Withdrawal period
The withdrawal period is 14 days from the day on which you or a third party named by you (who is not the carrier) has taken physical possession of the goods.
Exercising your right of withdrawal
To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us of your decision to withdraw from the contract by a clear statement (e.g. email):
Email: contact@capu.de
You may use any clear statement; a specific form is not required.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract:
- we will refund all payments received from you, including the cost of standard delivery (but excluding any additional costs for non-standard delivery),
- without undue delay and at the latest 14 days from the day we receive your notice of withdrawal.
We may withhold the refund until we have received the goods back or you have supplied evidence of having sent them back, whichever is earlier.
You must send back or hand over the goods to us without undue delay, and in any event no later than 14 days from the day on which you notified us of your withdrawal. The deadline is met if you send the goods before the period of 14 days has expired.
Further details (including any exceptions if applicable) may be set out in our Returns / Refund Policy.
9. Returns & Return Costs
We want you to be fully satisfied with your purchase.
- Returns from EU countries:
Returns from EU countries are free of charge for you. We will either provide a prepaid return label or reimburse reasonable return shipping costs. - Returns from non-EU countries (UK, USA, Switzerland, ROW):
Returns from outside the EU are handled on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us at contact@capu.de before returning any goods from outside the EU so we can agree on the most suitable solution.
Goods should be returned in their original condition and packaging where reasonably possible. This does not limit your statutory rights if goods are defective or not as described.
10. Product Lifetime Guarantee
We stand behind the quality of our products and offer a Lifetime Guarantee as a voluntary additional warranty.
Scope of the Guarantee
CAPU GmbH (“CAPU”) provides a lifetime guarantee (“Guarantee”) against defects in materials or workmanship for a period of 10 years from the original date of purchase (“Lifetime”). Each product is individually quality-checked and inspected by hand prior to shipment.

If the parcel is marked “delivered” but you did not receive it
Check with neighbours or your local depot first.
If still unresolved, contact us, we will assist in opening a trace.
(Please note: reimbursement depends on the carrier’s investigation outcome.)
9. Prepaid Return Labels
Return labels are not included in shipments but may be provided depending on your location:
- EU customers: Returns are free; we provide a prepaid label or reimburse costs.
- Non-EU customers: Returns are managed case-by-case; please contact us before returning any item.
For full details, see our Returns Policy.
